Freight forwarding software

Chain of custody software for freight forwarders and 3PLs.

Every client's consignments in one operational record — who held the goods, where they are, what was agreed at each handover — while each client sees only its own freight and can infer nothing about anyone else's.

The problem

You answer for freight you do not own

A forwarder or third-party logistics provider sits between shippers, carriers, agents and consignees. When a consignment is late, damaged or disputed, the question is always the same: who had it, when did responsibility pass, and what can you prove? The answer is usually spread across carrier portals, email threads and signed paper that someone has to reconstruct under time pressure.

The second problem is separation. You need a view across every client you act for. Each of those clients must see only their own shipments — and most multi-client visibility tools solve the first half by quietly weakening the second.

CapabilityIncluded

Chain of custody, handover by handover

Custody is recorded as a chain of handovers per leg rather than a status field that gets overwritten. A gap in custody shows as a gap. Each handover is proposed by one person and approved by another — the person who proposed a transfer of responsibility cannot approve it themselves — so the record reads as the two-step control it claims to be.

Replaces
Signed paper proofs of delivery and email confirmation threads
Produces
An attributable handover record for every leg, with an append-only audit trail
CapabilityAgency

Multi-client visibility without mixing client data

With Agency you act on behalf of named client organisations. Each client is the owner of its own operational record from the first row written, and that separation is enforced in the database, not by what a screen chooses to hide. A client that leaves takes a complete history and none of anyone else's.

Your cross-client reporting stays with you. It is never surfaced to an individual client, because with a small book of clients a principal could subtract its own figures from an aggregate and recover a competitor's.

Shipment tracking from the sources you already have

Consignments are journeys made of legs and checkpoints. Positions arrive from your own GPS trackers, from vehicle telematics such as Motive, or from flight and air waybill tracking — and every position carries the time its fix was taken, so nobody routes a decision on where a truck was four hours ago. Checkpoints can be recorded from any phone by scanning a QR code.

Includes
Live shipment map · temperature, humidity and shock readings from trackers · alerts raised on the shipment they concern · documents held against the movement

Motive webhooks · air waybill tracking · any device that can post to a documented ingest · REST API

Bring your data in without a big-bang migration

Shipments, parties and purchase orders import from a spreadsheet or an ERP export, and advance ship notices import from X12 856 EDI. Every import is previewed first — new, updated and unchanged, row by row — and running the same file twice does not duplicate history, because in practice the same file will be run twice.

Questions

Freight forwarder FAQ

Can each of our clients see only their own shipments?

Yes. With the Agency capability you act on behalf of client organisations while each client's records stay separate, enforced in the database rather than by screen filters. Cross-client reporting stays with you.

How is chain of custody recorded?

As a sequence of handovers per leg: who held the goods, when responsibility transferred and on whose authority. One person proposes a handover and another approves it; the proposer cannot approve their own.

Do we have to replace our TMS or carrier portals?

No. Shipments and parties import from spreadsheets and ERP exports, ship notices from X12 856 EDI, and positions from telematics or air waybill tracking. Re-running an import does not duplicate history.

Is it priced per user or per shipment?

No. A banded platform licence plus a licence per optional capability; nothing is metered per user, per shipment or per import. See pricing.

Can it run inside our own infrastructure?

Yes — in our managed cloud, on your own servers under licence, or fully air-gapped. See deployment.

See it against your own consignments.
