How long was the load out of range?

Paste a temperature logger export and get the time out of range, every excursion, the furthest reading and the degree-hours, in °C or °F. It runs in your browser: nothing you paste is uploaded.

Allowed range

Always use the range on your product label or contract. These are common ranges, not advice.

Readings

Times like 2026-10-14 14:05, 10/14/2026 2:05 PM or just 14:05. Commas, semicolons or tabs between columns. The file never leaves your browser.

How it counts

The method, so you can check the answer

  • Each reading holds until the next one. A logger that records every 15 minutes is read as 15-minute blocks, each at the temperature recorded at its start.
  • A reading exactly on a limit is in range. 8.0 °C against a 2 to 8 °C range is not an excursion.
  • Gaps are not guessed. A gap longer than three times the usual interval is reported as unknown time, counted neither in nor out of range, and it ends an excursion.
  • The last reading starts nothing. If it is out of range, the excursion is reported as still open when the log ends.
  • Degree-hours are how far a reading was outside the limit, multiplied by how long it lasted, added up. One hour at 2 °C above the limit is 2 °C·h. They tell a short, deep excursion from a long, shallow one.
Questions

Cold-chain excursion questions

Is my logger data uploaded anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and the file or text you paste is never sent to Cargovate or anyone else. Closing the page discards it.

Which temperature range should I use?

The one on your product label, stability data or contract. The ranges in the list are common ones, offered as a starting point, not as advice for any product.

What is a temperature excursion?

A period when the recorded temperature was outside the allowed range: above the high limit, below the low limit, or both at different times.

What are degree-hours?

The distance outside the limit multiplied by the time spent there, added up over an excursion. They let you compare a brief spike with a long, mild drift.

Which logger formats does it read?

Any text or CSV export with a time and a temperature on each line, separated by commas, semicolons or tabs. Dates can be written year first, month first or day first, and a header row is skipped.

Catch the excursion while the goods are still moving

A logger export tells you what happened after the load arrives. In Cargovate, tracker readings are checked against the device's condition profile as they arrive, and an excursion becomes an alert on the shipment it belongs to, in °C or °F. See cold chain monitoring for shippers.
